HELP WITH A STATE AGENCY

If you are having trouble cutting through the red tape of state government, please contact Representative Murr’s office. Helping constituents navigate the bureaucracy of state government is an important service that he offers. While Representative Murr cannot force a state agency to act in your favor, he can ensure that your case is addressed in a timely fashion and with the respect and attention it deserves. Please keep in mind that Representative Murr’s office cannot offer legal advice or intervene on your behalf in any pending legal matters. Likewise, his office has no jurisdiction in matters pertaining to the federal government, county government, or city government.

If you are having trouble with a state agency, please contact Representative Murr’s District Director, Kellie Early, at (830) 257-0432, or send an email to kellie.early@house.texas.gov.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNTIES

Representative Murr offers internship opportunities to college students each semester and during the summer. Those accepted into the Intern Program will get the chance to experience day-to-day life in a representative’s office by assisting the staff in a variety of capacities, including managing constituent correspondence, working on legislative research, attending meetings, and possibly traveling around the district. Interns will not be merely given clerical work but instead will experience the full range of duties of a full-time staff member.

If you are interested in applying for an internship position, please submit your application as far in advance as possible of the semester or summer in which you wish to intern in Representative Murr’s office. Your application should consist of your resume, a cover letter, and a short writing sample. After reviewing your application, qualified applicants will then be contacted to schedule a telephone or in-person interview.

Please submit all internship applications via email to Chief of Staff, Logan Harrison at logan.harrison@house.texas.gov.
